Jayme Closs rescued herself. Should she get the $50,000 reward money?
By [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and Marlena Baldacci, CNN
Updated 4:32 PM ET, Wed January 16, 2019

(CNN)[Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and alerted authorities that Jayme Closs was at their home said they did not want a $50,000 reward for providing information on the abducted girl's whereabouts.

Kristin Kasinskas said that she and her husband, Peter, had not been approached by officials about the reward or where it may go. Still, they said if anyone does receive the reward, it should be Jayme.

"Because she got herself out," Kasinskas said.

The question of what to do with that five-figure reward money comes a week after 13-year-old Jayme was found alive and well outside Gordon, Wisconsin, about 70 miles north of where she was last seen. Her parents were killed and she was abducted October 15 near Barron, Wisconsin, sparking an extensive law enforcement search for any signs or tips on her whereabouts.

Suspect in Jayme Closs kidnapping applied for job the day she escaped

By [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], Marlena Baldacci and [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], CNN
Updated 3:22 PM ET, Thu January 17, 2019

(CNN)The man charged with kidnapping Jayme Closs applied for a warehouse job at a liquor distributor in Superior, Wisconsin, just hours before the 13-year-old escaped from captivity, a manager at Saratoga Liquor Company told CNN.

"I'm an honest and hardworking guy," Jake Patterson wrote in the "Skills" section of a resume received by the company just after noon on January 10. "Not much work experience but I show up to work and am a quick learner."

The criminal complaint released by the Barron County District Attorney's office contains little about what happened between the kidnapping on October 15 and Jayme's escape after 88 days.

The Jayme Closs case: A chilling tale of murder, kidnapping and escape in rural America
By [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], CNNUpdated 1:46 AM ET, Sun January 20, 2019

    Editor's note:
This account of events leading up to the fatal shooting of Jayme Closs' parents, her kidnapping and its aftermath is based on official statements, the criminal complaint, other court documents, interviews with residents and other reporting from CNN and its news affiliates.

(CNN)Jake Patterson lasted only two days as a temp at the Saputo cheese factory in Almena, Wisconsin, a largely forgettable stint but for a brief stop behind a school bus while driving to work on a desolate stretch of US Highway 8.
The chance encounter provided his first glimpse of a green-eyed, strawberry-blond middle-school student who boarded the bus that October morning.

How did Jake Patterson's life lead to Jayme Closs?

Alleged violent acts in northwestern Wisconsin leave family, friends with questions.
By [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Star Tribune
    JANUARY 19, 2019 — 6:43PM

GORDON, Wis. – One question plays endlessly in the minds of people here along the rural roads deep in the North Woods.

    What happened to Jake Patterson?

He was an ordinary, well-behaved kid, people here say.

Teachers and classmates at his small country school described him as smart and quick-witted — quiet, but not a loner. He had friends and was well-accepted among the 34 members of the Class of 2015 at Northwood School, most of whom had been together since kindergarten.

He played video games, board games — “Risk” was a favorite — and devoured Tom Clancy spy novels.

So what could possibly have transformed this lean, prematurely balding and reserved young man into the alleged perpetrator of a brutal crime that shocked a nation?

Jayme Closs to Receive $25,000 in Reward Money

    Jan 24, 2019

Turkey products company Jennie-O says it will donate the $25,000 it had offered in reward money for information leading to Jayme Closs directly to the 13-year-old girl.

    snipped

The FBI and Jennie-O contributed a total of $50,000 for information on Jayme's whereabouts. Jennie-O and its parent company, Hormel Foods, announced Thursday that they're working with law enforcement to get Jennie-O's share of the reward to Jayme.

Jennie-O President Steve Lykken says in a statement that he hopes a trust fund can be set up for Jayme's current and future needs.

It's not clear what the FBI will do with the $25,000 it offered. Details on FBI rewards are generally not disclosed.

She needs all the emotional and financial support she can get.

Waiting to see if they file charges of sexual abuse....but think they have enough already to lock JP up for life.

I hope they don't make her testify and, yes, PRAY that he pleads guilty and spares her any further trauma.

I am almost positive they have enough to lock JP up for life. Jamye has been through more than enough, she doesn't need to sit through a court case and testify.
