Toby Willis of The Willis Family Appears in Court on Child Rape Charges Following Shocking Arrest
    09/12/2016 AT 03:35 PM EDT

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Toby Nathaniel Willis appeared in court in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky, on Monday after being charged with child rape this past weekend.

Willis did not have an attorney in Muhlenberg County district court today, Circuit Court Clerk Camron Laycock tells PEOPLE.

During the hearing, Laycock confirmed that 46-year-old Willis did not oppose extradition, meaning that the state of Tennessee has up to 60 days to retrieve him from across state lines. (Will was not given the opportunity to enter a plea on Monday and isn't expected to do so until he is formally charged in Tennessee.)

The father of The Willis Clan, a country music group that once had show on TLC, was arrested Friday after being investigated for allegedly having a sexual encounter with an underage girl in Nashville about 12 years ago, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations said in a statement.

TBI agents said that they arrested Willis in Greenville, Kentucky, where he reportedly fled from his home in Ashland City, Tennessee, to avoid police. He was charged with one count of rape of a child.

Willis continues to be held in the Muhlenberg County Jail in Kentucky without bond as a fugitive from justice. He will be moved to Cheatham County Jail in his hometown, where he will also be held without bond, according to the TBI statement.

Willis and his family starred on TLC's The Willis Family, which followed their life as a musical family of 14. Toby, his wife Brenda, and their 12 children first rose to fame when they reached the quarterfinals of season nine of America's Got Talent.

TLC sure knows how to pick 'em...just saying. Ugh!

TLC announced today they cancelled the show, but I swear I read somewhere that it was cancelled back in May shortly after the end of the season 2 episodes.

I've been keeping an eye on this. It's been postponed multiple times, the last time because they did a mental competency on him. His eldest, Jessica, let the group and went to live with her boyfriend just before this news broke.

They are now engaged, he takes good care of her. Here's his Instagram:

Agree. I'm glad he pleaded guilty, the victim will at least be spared testifying.

    from the family:

"Brenda Willis and the Willis Clan released the following statement through their attorney, Bill Speek:

"The Willis family would like to thank their family, friends and fans for the outpouring of love and support during this most difficult year. Additionally, the Willis family would like to thank the many members of law enforcement for their detailed and comprehensive investigation of this matter. Finally, the family would like to thank the District Attorney's office for their diligence and sensitivity in the handling of this case. The family has remained fully cooperative throughout the investigation. Although the criminal case has concluded with Toby Willis receiving 40 years for the crimes he committed, the impact on the victims will remain much longer. The family is appreciative and grateful that people have respected their need for privacy during this trying time and asks for continued respect as they seek to move forward.""

Is there more than one victim? or maybe the entire family are victims because of this act against one of them?

    oh my God

"Court documents have shined a horrifying light on the crimes committed by reality star Toby Willis. These documents indicate that the singer and former star of The Willis Family actually raped four different young girls, according to Radar Online.

The court documents, obtained from the Circuit Court For Cheatham County, describe each of his victims, adding up to four. Before these papers were released, the number of victims was unknown.

The first victim was a 10-year-old that Toby Willis “did unlawfully, knowingly and feloniously sexually penetrate” on or about January 1, 2002 through December 31, 2002. He also “sexually penetrated” a second victim, who was just 9-years-old at the time of the assault, which occurred in 2004.

The papers also note that he raped his third victim, a 12-year-old, on or about February 1, 2013 through February 28, 2013. His fourth victim was just 8 and the assault occurred “on or about January 1, 2011 through December 21, 2011.” ..."

Reality star and singer Toby Willis raped FOUR different young girls, according to court documents

Court documents have shined a horrifying light on the crimes committed by reality star Toby Willis.
His fourth victim was just 8 and the assault occurred “on or about January 1, 2011 through December 21, 2011.”

As previously reported by Crime Online, Willis has been sentenced to 40 years behind bars for these brutal rapes. After originally fleeing from police, he pleaded guilty on all counts, receiving two 25-year sentences on two counts of child rape and two 40-year sentences on the other two counts. These sentences will be served concurrently, and at 100 percent, giving Willis a total of 40 years in prison.
The rest of the family has issued a statement, noting that they are “appreciative and grateful that people have respected their need for privacy during this trying time” and they’ve also asked for “continued respect as they seek to move forward.”
Each victim remains anonymous, due to the nature of the crime.

I have to wonder if one of the older girls finally found out about the younger girls and went to the authorities.
