While I was away I saw an old restored home that used old doors as window coverings, they were on sliders and looked amazing.
Im thinking about using a similar idea for some of my windows.

It looked really good,I was thinking about doing it with shutters on my windows, put them on the inside instead of the outside.
My friend did that in one of the bedrooms in her house...put some old shutters on the inside walls. IIRC, they were stationary on either side of the window, they couldn't be moved. It really looked nice, very decorative.
Im going to have mine so they can open,my lounge room windows are recessed so it should work.
Ive also decided to not gyprock/plaster anymore of my brick walls,Im just going to paint them instead,Im going to do them white.
The timber in the flooring is probably around 200 years old,I was told it would be sacrilege to paint over it.
Welllll, that changes things, lol. I would not paint over wood like that either...maybe a dark stain or lots of oil?
A friend of mine had a black and white kitchen. She added pops of colorful things to it, it really looked nice!
We tung oiled the other floors and they came up nice, the grain really stands out.
I was just so pleased the the flooring was in good shape,I wouldnt have liked to pay to replace it.
What are you all making for Christmas? I finally figured out hand made things are more appreciated. I'd be a millionaire if I knew that sooner.
Did you seriously just say the 'C' word, Riv?Lol
I like the idea of hand made gifts. I have, in the past, made jam/jelly or different kinds of salsa and given jars as part of a gift basket. Most if not all of the ingredients come from our garden or grow wild. I am hoping this year to get a good crop of both wild grapes and some hubby grows in the garden for jam or jelly. If we can get them before the birds do!
I used to make chocolates and White Christmas to give away but havnt done that for ages.
I LOVE THIS!
I love that! Very cool.
