That's what I am wondering. You can't trust anyone as we have seen in a lot of the cases.

Family says missing Kayla Gomez-Orozco is a bright, happy girl who adores her brothers

    Published on Thursday, 3 November 2016 15:42

Kayla Gomez-Orozco wasn’t there to make sure her older brother Kenneth got up for work on Thursday morning, as she has done every day for as long as he can remember.
The house is too quiet now. Ten-year-old Kayla went missing during a church service on Tuesday. More than two dozen people were inside the sanctuary, many of them family. Authorities have offered little in the way of answers, which seems to only intensify the pain.

Kenneth is 10 years older than his baby sister, and he has become the family’s de facto spokesperson as they desperately try to bring Kayla home.

“She loves being here at home,” Kenneth said. “She’s not very demanding. She gets pleased pretty easy.”

At school, Kayla is studious. This bright, happy 10-year-old is every bit as smart as Kenneth knew she would be when she looked up at him for the first time.

Family of missing girl: ‘She was the life of this home’

    Nov 3, 2016

    TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

The family of Kayla Gomez-Orozco said they are cooperating with investigators as they continue their search for the 10-year-old.

Multiple agencies were at their home Thursday conducting interviews.

"We miss her, we love her. She was the life of this home,” said family friend Jazmine Aguilar.
As the family continued their interviews with law enforcement, neighbors came by offering encouragement and prayers.

"It's amazing; it really means a lot to us. It's kind of what we wanted, to get everyone on the same page and in the same spirit," said Kenneth Gomez, Kayla’s brother.

Gomez said the family still has plenty of unanswered questions.

"My parents are really frustrated. We feel helpless, we can't do anything and it brings a lot of pain," Gomez said.

Thursday, the family said Texas Rangers took Kayla’s parents back to Bullard First Assembly for a walk through of where she was last seen.

"We just can't figure it out. We all know each other for years. It’s kind of hard to say he might've done it or she might've done it, because these people love Kayla," Gomez said.

As friends and family pray for her safe return, they hope that wherever Kayla is, she knows she is loved.

    snipped

The family has taken to Facebook with a page called Praying for Kayla.

As of Friday morning, officials had no new leads in the investigation, but will be conducting more interviews throughout the day.

On Tuesday evening, Kayla Gomez-Orozco, 10, of Tyler, went missing from Bullard First Assembly of God off Highway 69. Spanish church members say they use Bullard First Assembly of God on Tuesday nights for prayer service.

Relatives say, typically, children will hang out in the lobby area of the church following prayer. Gomez was sitting in a chair by herself and when the mother returned to get her around 8:00 p.m., the child had disappeared.

    snipped

Family members tell KETK, Gomez is not known to be a "trouble maker," and that running off is "very out of character."

Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell described the family of the child as a good, hard-working, religious family. He added there is no reason she would be abducted. Authorities said they would talk to neighbors and friends for any other possible leads. There is no official person of interest.

    snipped

Officials were searching for a red Cadillac SRX, which is an SUV, that was parked at the church around the time Gomez went missing. Officials say the vehicle information is no longer valid.

No local search party has been organized at this time, according to Agent Class.

    Friday, November 4th 2016, 1:13 pm PDT - Friday, November 4th 2016, 1:14 pm PDT

Released by the Bullard area Chamber of Commerce:

Our first look inside Bullard First Assembly. This is reportedly the last place Kayla Gomez-Orozco was seen on Tuesday night.

That is not a very big lobby. Kayla was sitting on one of those chairs when she was last seen. Is that the front doors on the right of the pic? If so that would be easy for someone to take a child and slip out unnoticed imo if no one else was in that area. It looks like there are several rooms there and an upstairs. I wonder how many people were at the prayer service that night at that time?

Thanks for the picture. Yes, looks like front doors to the right, she would have easily been seen by anyone, ugh, sitting there all alone

I didn't realize church was that large, in your post#9, picture of the outside of church it looks like a one story.

POLICE REPORT: Federal officials responded to Bullard church within 2 hours of Kayla Gomez's disappearance

    Nov 4, 2016

Federal agencies were at the Bullard First Assembly of God Church within two hours from when the first officer responded to Kayla Gomez-Orozco’s disappearance.

An 11-page report filed by Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Chris Monroe, details the timeline of how first responders searched for Kayla.

The report was released to the Tyler Morning Telegraph on Friday afternoon.

Monroe was the first to the church at 8:32 p.m., and he called for additional support at 8:39 p.m.

By 8:46 p.m., the church property had been searched by the Bullard Police Department, and then Monroe decided to check it one more time himself.

He then went to the neighboring restaurant, Taco El Conquistador, to see if they had video footage, but reported the cameras were not working.

At 8:55 p.m., police began patrolling nearby county roads, and by 9:09 p.m. the Bullard Fire Department had searched the immediate area. North Cherokee Volunteer Fire Department was then called in, according to the report.

Close to 10 p.m., Cherokee County Sheriff James Campbell was on scene, along with several members of his leadership staff.

I really don't think Kayla went outside. I think she left with someone from the church. You can clearly see the front doors to the church in the pic I just posted. If she went outside she would be in the parking lot. I wonder if the church has surveillance cameras? Probably not as she would of been seen on them. She was sitting about 10 mins waiting for her mother. Who left the church within those 10 or so mins?

I agree Kitty, Kayla left with someone she "knew" from church, according to one article there was more than two dozen people inside the church that night, many of them family.

JMO but maybe someone from the church told Kayla that her mom was staying longer and told Kayla that her mom told them to give her a ride home since she had school the next day?

That's possible. Kayla was in the lobby unsupervised for 1 hour. So the person who took her had plenty of time. ugh!

I went back over the police report, I converted military time to regular time.
According to police report the mother, Balvina Arellano-Gomez and 5 others arrived at the church at 7:00 p.m., Kayla was told to wait in the lobby. At approximately 8:00 p.m., the prayer meeting ended. Her Mother and family members realized Kayla was not in the lobby/building or in the area surrounding the church. At 8:18 p.m., Police Sergeant Monroe was dispatched to the church. Mrs. Arellano-Gomez informed officer of the circumstances leading up to Kayla disappearance.

I thought it was only 10 minutes that she was alone? That's what all the news reports are saying. Hmmm, eventually the real story always comes out.
