Efforts are continuing to find three young children missing in Adelaide's south since Wednesday.

Siblings Ethan Lawson, 12, Jayden Lawson, 10, and Sienna Dodd, 6, were last seen at Christies Beach when they were dropped off at a local oval for football training on Wednesday night.

An extensive search failed to find the trio who were thought to have run off from training to head for their father's house at Hackham West, about four kilometres away, police say.

On Friday police will check with family and friends of the children in the hope that someone has taken them in.

South Australia police believe three children who ran off from their carers on Wednesday night are with their parents.
Siblings Ethan Lawson, 12, Jayden Lawson, 10, and Sienna Dodd, 6, were last seen at Christies Beach when they were dropped off at a local oval for football training on Wednesday night.
"I once again want to reiterate that Dylan and Chantelle, family members please contact police, let us know the children are OK," Superintendent Ian Parrott told reporters.

If they are with their parents, someone needs to at least let the authorities know they're o.k. And I sure hope they are o.k.

Three missing children found safe and well after two-day search; man detained by police

    Updated about 3 hours agoFri 10 Jun 2016, 3:58am

Three children who went missing from Adelaide's south on Wednesday night have been found safe and well, and a man has been detained by police.

Siblings Ethan Lawson, 12, Jayden Lawson, 10, and six-year-old Sienna Dodd were dropped off at Bice Oval at Christies Beach for football training on Wednesday evening and ran off from the oval.

Superintendent Ian Parrott said the children were now in the hands of "appropriate authorities" and said a man had been detained by police for breaching bail.

Police have not identified the detained man and said they would not comment further on the incident.
