A southern California father charged in the death of his son reportedly led investigators to the boy's body more than two months after the 5-year-old was reported missing.*
Aramazd Andressian Sr., 35, pleaded not guilty on Monday to a murder charge in the death of his son,*Aramazd Andressian Jr., whose remains were discovered Friday near Lake Cachuma, a recreational area about 15 miles northwest of Santa Barbara.*

Aramazd Andressian Sr., center, a suspect in killing of his missing 5-year-old son, is escorted off a plane in shackles after landing at the Long Beach Airport, Friday, June 30, 2017, in Long Beach, Calif. *(Copyright 2017 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.)
Andressian is being held on $10 million bail. This was his first court appearance since he was extradited back from Nevada.*
Sources confirmed to*Fox 11*that the father did lead police to the remains, though his lawyer, Ambrosio Rodriguez, told The Associated Press that his client last week hadn't said where his son was. An autopsy is scheduled to be conducted early next week. Rodriguez said his client was heartbroken by Friday's discovery
Thank you @[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]; for the update. Wow, I didn't see that coming, really surprised. IMO, he's trying to make it easier on himself by leading LE to his son's body. He sure the hell didn't do it for the mother of this child.

Bet he's pleading not guilty because he's going to use the temporary insane or accident defense.

Just a guess, but maybe he is going to claim that his son ate some of the drugs he ended up taking later and died at his residence.
He panicked and drove up to Lake Cachuma and hid the body in the brush off a trail along the main road next to the lake.
Then he drove back to the area he was found in Pasadena and tried to commit suicide by taking what was left of the drugs, intending
to torch himself in the car when he got close to passing out - except he passed out before he could do it.
The drugs affected his brain so much that he couldn't remember anything that happened - up to the time he told them where Ara was.

    What I think really happened:

He killed little Ara to hurt his wife and so he wouldn't have to pay child support.
He gave him drugs and perhaps smothered him at his residence. He put him in the
trunk of his car and drove to Lake Cachuma. After scouting places to dump him,
he picked the cover of the thick brush off the road, where no one would see him.
I don't think he buried him at all.
Burying him would show that he cared a little about him - which he did not.

Absolutely agree with you @[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]; This was premeditated. He wanted her suffer for the rest of her life and that she will. IMO, little Ara died of drug overdose.

I think Ara was buried, only because searches had been to Cachuma lake several times prior to this bastard leading them there.

Thank you PK for the update. What a POS that "father" is. Murdered his precious son to get back at his wife. He never loved Ara, how could you bring yourself to murder a 5 year old, who is your own flesh and blood? I can't believe he took Ara to Disney Land, took pics and then murdered him. Evil just evil. Little boy having the time of his life not knowing he was going to die very soon. Breaks my heart!

    Day 103.
Aramazd Andressian Senior plead guilty to the charge he murdered his son today.
    Guilty.
    It is official.
The judge accepted his plea and found him guilty.
There is no longer the need to use the words "alleged", "reportedly" or "accused".
Aramazd Andressian admitted that he murdered his child, Ara,Jr...little Piqui.
    Murdered.
    There are no words.
Just like there were no words to describe the site of Piqui's tiny white casket at his funeral.
A casket so small yet it held so much...love and light, innocence, promise, all that is good and right.
    There are no words.
Just like there are no words to describe seeing Ana, Piqui's mother, walking into court holding an urn with her son's ashes.
All I could do was hug her.
    And then I held him.
Ana placed Piqui in my hands and for a few minutes I held on ever-so-tight to all that love and light, now enclosed in a silver urn.
    There are no words.
    Sentencing will be August 23rd.

South Pasadena father to be sentenced in 5-year-old son's killing
    Aug 23 2017 06:31AM PDT

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Sentencing is set Wednesday for a South Pasadena man who pleaded guilty to first-degree murder for killing his 5-year-old son, whose body was found in Santa Barbara County after a roughly two-month search.

Aramazd Andressian Sr. is facing 25 years to life in state prison for the killing of Aramazd*"Piqui'' Andressian Jr. Andressian, 35, pleaded guilty Aug. 1 before Superior Court Judge Cathryn Brougham.

He was initially arrested April 22, then released three days later due to lack of evidence. He was arrested again June 23 in Las Vegas, sporting dyed light-colored hair, and was returned to Los Angeles County June 30 after waiving extradition

The boy's body was found the same day near the Lake Cachuma Recreation Area in Santa Barbara County, in an area that had been searched before.
Authorities said Andressian killed his son in the midst of a bitter divorce from his estranged wife, Ana Estevez.
Estevez attended the brief court hearing earlier this month in Alhambra, carrying her son's ashes in an urn. Crying erupted in the courtroom when Andressian admitted killing the boy.
Authorities have not said disclosed how the boy died.
"It was Mr. Andressian, who when he was brought back from Las Vegas, that gave the officers the information as to where his son was buried,'' his attorney, Ambrosio Rodriguez, said earlier this month.
Andressian's lawyer told reporters that the last court hearing was pushed up more than two weeks because his client wanted to "plead guilty and take responsibility for what he did.''
"... This was not planned,'' Rodriguez said of the killing, telling reporters that Andressian is "beyond words in regretting having committed such an act.''

Deputy District Attorney Craig Hum said earlier this month that it's the prosecution's position that ``the evidence clearly supports the fact that it was planned, that it was premeditated, it was deliberate, he had this in mind before he actually committed the murder.''
But Hum told reporters the prosecution didn't feel there was sufficient evidence to support a special circumstance allegation against Andressian in his son's death, which could have led to a sentence of either death or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Andressian's attorney said that one of the reasons his client -- who was on suicide watch at one point after his arrest -- pleaded guilty early in the case was to avoid having the District Attorney's Office file a special circumstance allegation against him.
Attorneys said there was no agreement worked out between the two sides involving the plea.
"He could not have gotten anything more if we had gone to trial,'' Hum said, telling reporters he was "not really at liberty to say exactly when the murder occurred or how it occurred.''
Aramazd Andressian Jr. was last seen alive at 1 a.m. April 21 leaving Disneyland with his father, who was found unconscious at Arroyo Seco Park in South Pasadena the next day and was unable to account for the child's whereabouts.

The elder Andressian told investigators he arrived at the park with his son and waited for the golf course to open, and admitted ingesting prescription medication that was not prescribed to him, according to Lt. Joe Mendoza of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide Bureau.
The father said he did not remember what happened to his child or any details that were useful in locating the boy, according to Mendoza, who said a prescription bottle was found inside his car, which was doused inside and outside with gasoline.
According to a Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services report obtained by the Southern California News Group, Andressian told investigators around the time of his arrest in Las Vegas that he had "harmed'' the boy and "left him.'' He also told investigators where to find the boy's body, according to the report.
According to Mendoza, the killing was "pre-planned'' and took place between the time Andressian and his son left Disneyland and the father was discovered at the South Pasadena park.
The boy's mother called authorities when the father failed to return him as planned.
Related:*'I miss him more than words can describe': Mother of missing 5-year-old boy speaks to FOX 11
Mendoza alleged that the elder Andressian planned the murder to get back at his estranged wife during a "tumultuous'' divorce and then tried to commit suicide -- before heading to Las Vegas where he was preparing to flee the United States.
The search for the boy spanned several Southern California counties. Authorities focused on the Lake Cachuma area because Andressian Sr. told them he took the boy there the day after the Disneyland trip. *

Funeral services for the boy were held July 18 in South Pasadena, with Estevez reading a letter she wrote to her lost son.
"My dearest Piqui, at no time did I ever imagine having to write such a letter, nor did the thought of life without you ever enter my mind,'' she said.
"Although I find myself living with an eternal shadow of devastation and emptiness because I don't have you here with me, I want the world to see what an amazing child you were, through my eyes, and to see you as the gift that God blessed me with for five years, two months and two days.''

I hope someone offs him when he's in prison.
Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

A man who pleaded guilty to killing his 5-year-old son was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years to life in state prison after the boy's family members, including his mother, expressed grief and anger in court.
Aramazd Andressian Sr. was sentenced at an emotional hearing in an Alhambra courtroom. The remains of his son, Aramazd "Piqui" Andressian Jr., were found near Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara June 30. That was the same day Andressian Sr. was extradited to Los Angeles from Las Vegas to face a murder charge.
Family members, including the boy's mother, Ana Estevez Andressian, addressed the court and her former husband directly, calling him a failure as a father and as a man.
"When you die may your dark soul burn in eternal hell," she said. "The light of my life is extinguished forever."

Estevez Andressian pleaded with the judge to impose the maximum sentence. She sobbed as she told the judge she had already been sentence to a life without her beloved son.
She also spoke directly to her estranged husband, who remained facing the front of the courtroom. He did not speak.
"I hope you relive the image of murdering my baby every day of your insignificant life," she told Andressian Sr. *"There is no real pain, just an incomprehensible deadness. Like my son, I, too, have died."*

Investigators believe Andressian Jr. was killed April 21 after he and his 35-year-old father visited Disneyland. Surveillance cameras captured the two leaving the park around 1 a.m.
The following day, Andressian Sr. failed to return the child to his estranged wife. He was found unconscious at Arroyo Seco Park in South Pasadena, claiming he didn't know where his son was. The child's mother called authorities to report the boy missing.
Los Angeles County sheriff's Detective Louie Aguilera said Wednesday that Aramazd Andressian Sr. smothered the boy with a child's jacket that was in his car. Aguilera said the boy was killed about an hour after he and his father arrived in Santa Barbara, and his body was left in a wooded area near Vista Point.

Investigators said Andressian Sr. killed the child as a way to get back at his wife, with whom he was in the middle of a divorce and custody battle.
The boy's disappearance led to widespread search in Santa Barbara County and other Southern California locations. During much of that time, the father was in Las Vegas, according to investigators.*
The investigation into the boy's disappearance included several weeks of surveillance, during which the suspect "significantly" changed his appearance. He also acted in a manner inconsistent with the behavior of a grieving parent, police said. He appeared to be planning to flee to a country from which he could not be extradited, officials said.
