4 missing young men in Bucks County: What we know

    July 11, 2017

Authorities in Bucks County are continuing to search for four young men who have been missing since last week, with foul play suspected in the case. Here’s what we know so far — and what we don’t know — about the mysterious disappearances.

    What we know

Who is missing: Investigators are looking for four young men, identified as: Mark R. Sturgis, 22, of Pennsburg; Thomas C. Meo, 21, of Plumstead; Dean A. Finocchiaro, 18, of Middletown; and Jimi Tar Patrick, 19, of Newtown.

When they were last seen: Sturgis and Meo were last seen Friday, July 7. Finocchiaro, who was last seen being picked up by a fifth person who is not missing, also was last seen Friday, while Patrick was last seen Wednesday, July 5.

Where investigators are searching: Crews on Monday were focusing on farm acreage on the 6000 block of Lower York Road in Solebury Township, combing the vast property with metal detectors and a backhoe. The property is owned by Antonio and Sandra DiNardo of Bensalem. The search includes the FBI.

Other places that have been searched: Investigators on Sunday executed a search warrant at a nearby home in Solebury, finding Meo’s car in the garage. Sturgis’ vehicle was found at Peddlers Village in Lahaska, according to his father.

Foul play suspected: District Attorney Matthew Weintraub says foul play is suspected and authorities are treating the search as a criminal investigation.

Arrest made: Cosmo DiNardo, the 20-year-old son of the property owners, was taken into custody Monday in a firearms case. That charge had previously been dismissed but was refiled Monday. DiNardo was originally arrested for allegedly possessing a shotgun and ammunition he was not permitted to have because he had “mental illness” and had been involuntarily committed to an inpatient treatment facility, according to a criminal complaint filed in February.

Person of Interest Named in Disappearance of 4 Men in PA Cosmo DiNardo, 20

Well this is kind of interesting. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

A man arrested Monday is a person of interest in the search for four young men who have vanished, authorities in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, said today.

Cosmo DiNardo, 20, was arrested near a property being searched for the men, and he has been charged with a firearms possession offense from February.

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said this morning that DiNardo is now a person of interest in the search for the missing men but Weintraub stressed that no remains have been recovered.

Investigators are searching a property that belongs to the DiNardo family.
DiNardo is in jail being held on a $1 million bond in connection to the firearms possession allegation, not the men’s disappearance.

Tom Meo, 21, of Plumstead, Mark Sturgis, 22, of Pennsburg, Deam Finocchiaro, 19, of Middletown, and Jimi Tar Patrick, 19, of Newtown Township were all reported missing last week, Weintraub said at a news conference on Monday.

When asked whether foul play was suspected in the case, Weintraub said, "it sure would seem so," but declined to share further information.

“The leads are incredibly hot; they’re very fruitful. We’re making great progress, but there’s so much more work to do,” he said.

"We have information that the four men know each other, but we are not sure if this information is accurate," Weintraub told reporters.

Newtown Township, Plumstead Township, Middletown Township [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and state police are all involved in the joint investigation, Bucks County Assistant District Attorney Gregg Shore told ABC Philadelphia station WPVI-TV.

Sturgis' father said Meo and his son went missing last week after being seen in the Solebury area, according to WPVI. Mark Sturgis’ vehicle was found in the Peddler's Village shopping complex, according to the station. The wooded area being searched is also near Peddler's Village, the station reports.
A missing person's report was filed with the Newtown Township Police Department for Patrick July 6.

Finocchiaro was last seen around 6:30 p.m. Friday getting into a car at Hampton Drive in Middletown Township, according to WPVI.
Weintraub said it is "all hands on deck" to find the four men.
"At this point, I ask for your patience and your prayers for these four young men and let us do our jobs," Weintraub said.

This is strange four young men missing in just a few days. If you read the comments under the article one person states the four were gay. Others talk about drugs being involved.

All of that is simply rumors but how could one man take out four? Puzzling for sure.

A friend of DiNardo’s told Heavy.com that “six or seven months” before his arrest, though another source said the injury occurred closer to November 2016, DiNardo suffered a head injury following a quad biking accident.

The friend said that DiNardo was stranded in the woods for around a day and a half with injuries, including broken bones and bleeding on his brain. As a result of the accident DiNardo had frontal lobe damage. This is certainly bizarre. I'm anxious to hear how the investigation started and what lead them to DINardo so quickly. Saw a blurb on the world news last night but didn't learn anything new.

Police excavate schizophrenic 20-year-old's $5 million farm after he was re-arrested over the disappearance of four young Pennsylvania men when he tried to sell one of their cars

    July 12, 2017

The sole person of interest in the disappearance of four young men was sent off to jail on Wednesday for the second time since they vanished.

Cosmo DiNardo, 20, who the court heard has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, was told he will have to come up with $5 million cash if he is to regain his freedom.

He had earlier made a lower bail amount and was freed on Tuesday evening, the day after his arrest.

Authorities in Bucks County, Pennsylvania argued that DiNardo is a flight risk and a danger to the community as the reasons for the high bail.

Cops are continuing to search property belonging to DiNardo's parents in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania. District Attorney Matthew Weintraub said evidence has been found there linked to the missing men, although no human remains have been discovered.

'We are going to find something. We have no doubt about that.' He said.

DiNardo has not been charged in connection with the men's disappearance. Instead he was charged with car theft, for allegedly trying to sell a vehicle belonging to one of the missing men.

His defense team said the DA's office was upset he had made bail and had only come up with the new charge now to get him back in jail.

But magisterial district judge Maggie Snow, sitting in chambers in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, agreed with the higher level. She set a new hearing for DiNardo for July 31.

DiNardo allegedly tried to sell a champagne-colored 1996 Nissan Maxima belonging to Tom Meo — who has been missing since Friday — for $500. The car was found on his parents' $5 million property.

Inside cops found Meo's diabetic kit, which his parents say he never leaves behind.

DiNardo, wearing a gray tank top appeared on video from the police station in his hometown of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, where he was rearrested on Wednesday, less than a day after being released from jail.

As well as these... someone posted he was threatening to kill her because she didn't take to his advances. It's now been deleted from page. But many said he did that to them as well.

Human remains found at Solebury Township property ID'd as Dean Finocchiaro

Bucks County, Pa. (WTXF/AP) - The body of one of four missing young men was found along with other human remains inside a 12-foot-deep common grave on a farm linked to a 20-year-old man taken into custody Wednesday.

Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub pledged at a midnight news conference to "bring each and every one of these lost boys home to their families." Cadaver dogs had led them to the spot on the 90-acre farm where the FBI has spent days digging up the grave and sifting through the dirt for evidence. The other remains still need to be identified. The cause of deaths of those found in the grave has not yet been announced.

"I don't understand the science behind it, but those dogs could smell these poor boys 12-1/2 feet below the ground," Weintraub said.

There is so much wrong with this situation.

This kid has his gun charges dismissed in May by a judge, even though he was clearly mentally unstable. and his parents knew, and allowed him access to guns and freedom to run around doing God knows what.

It seems that no one has learned from the horrible incidents such as Sandy Hook. If people would be more serious about mental illness and guns....so much tragedy could be avoided.

I agree about the guns. He was a time bomb waiting to explode. I can't believe his parents let him have any access to the gun/guns.

How the hell could they live in one of two houses so close to the dig site and NOT notice that Cosmo was out there digging a more than 12' hole?

I realize that they had another residence miles away, but you would think that with a Traumatic Brain Injury AND a diagnosis of Schizophrenia they should have been monitoring him somewhat instead of letting him have free range of firearms and use of a backhoe!

Mother: Oh look Antonio....Cosmo is playing like a big boy with the trucks!
Father: It's good for him to stay busy having fun and learning about the equipment. He's a good boy and someday will run our empire. WTF?

    no shit!

I hope to hell they are asked by the grand jury what exactly they thought was ok about their schizo son running around with a shotgun.

I'm REALLY angry at these parents.

And this is why I have advocated for a long, long time we need to hold parents and caretakers also responsible when the one they are responsible for, lives with, gave birth to kills.

Let them get an attorney and prove or disprove their own innocence.
