Couple missing after jumping into croc-infested river to evade police.

A young pregnant woman and her partner are missing after its believed they jumped into a crocodile-infested river in the Northern Territory while attempting to flee police.
Caitlyn Munnich, 19, Raphael Woodhouse, 25, along with three other people, fled from police yesterday morning during a random traffic stop in the Kakadu region.
While the three unnamed accomplices are co-operating with police, officers hold fears the couple may have jumped into the dangerous river to escape.
"We believe the pair may have jumped into the Mary River and hold grave concerns for their welfare," Territory Duty Superintendent James O'Brien said.

"The Mary River system is full of salt water crocodiles and we are hoping that these people have made it to safety."
The Mary River is considered to have the highest concentration of crocodiles of any body of water in the Top End.
Police have received reports of sightings of the pair, but these are unconfirmed.

The couple who were believed to have jumped into a billabong near the croc infested Mary River have been found safe and well.

Caitlyn Munnich, 19, who is also pregnant, and Raphael Woodhouse, 25, were seen running away from police towards the Mary River on Saturday morning after being stopped at a random drug search roadblock.
NT Duty Super James O’Brien said police received a call between 6pm and 4pm from the public yesterday indicating that they were near Corroboree Park Tavern.
“We sighted and spoke to Caitlyn and she’s with her family now,” he said.

Glad to read they weren't eaten by crocs...but it's really dumb to run like that.
